The standard HDD(Hard Disk Drive) has been slimmed to a normal PATA(Parallel Advanced Technology Attachment) 1.8 inch laptop drive.

The Macbook Air also sports USB 2.0 jacks, Micro-DVI support for external display connectivity and full support for both 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. Blue-ray Vs HD DVD

In the previous post we learnt what is a Blue-ray Disc(BD) and a HD DVD.Now lets know the war that happened between these two to achieve the title of the Next Gen DVD format.

The companies were confused whether to manufacture Blu-ray discs or HD DVD.Sony's Blue-ray Disc got a slower start and is a slightly more expensive technology than HD DVD as it has more storage capacity than HD DVD.

By the Holywood's Blockbuster movies announcement in summer 2006 that it would carry Blu-ray DVD's was the first indicator of shifting favor away from HD DVD and towards Blu-ray as the main high definition technology. In January 2008, Warner Bros. announced it would release high def DVD's in Sony's Blu-ray format only, joining several other production companies and ensuring that in 2008 roughly 70% of new releases will be in Blu-ray.This propaosal gave a deathblow to HD DVD.

Finally, by February 2008, Toshiba announced it was pulling its support for the HD DVD format, leaving Blu Ray as the victor in the video wars.

Gunnies World Record By Firefox

The official date for the launch of Firefox 3 was June 17, 2008, named "Download Day 2008". Firefox was aiming to set the record for most software downloads in 24 hours. There is not currently a standing record for this feat. As of June 19, 2008, more than 12 million people have downloaded Firefox 3.

Download Day officially started at 11:16 a.m. PDT (18:16 UTC) on June 17. With the announced date, the download day was June 18 for timezones greater than GMT +6, which includes half of Asia and all of Oceania.

The large number of users attempting to access the Mozilla website on June 17
caused it to become unavailable for at least a few hours and attempts
at upgrading to the new version resulted in server timeouts. The site
was not updated for the download of Firefox 3 until 12:00 PDT (19:00
UTC), two hours later than originally scheduled.

When "Download Day" ended at 11:16 AM PDT (18:16 UTC) June 18 8,249,092 unique downloads had been recorded.
